Sámi Dáiddafestivala/Sami Art Festival
The Sami Art Festival takes place in Alta, Finnmark, Norway from Thursday November 21st to Sunday November 24th.
Festival arenas
The festival has many different events in different locations in Alta, please see the map below. Most of the arenas are in the center of Alta, while the cultural center Sisa is in Bossekop and Alta museum is in Hjemmeluft southwest of the city center.
Because of the long distances and the cold November weather, we recommend using the city bus or to share a car. We will also organize bus transport between certain events.

Transport to Alta
Airplane:
Alta airport har direct routes from Oslo, Tromsø, Kirkenes, Hammerfest, Sørkjosen and Vadsø.
Getting from the airport: There are buses to Alta center, as well as taxis and rental cars at the airport.
Car:
The main roads E6 and E45 pass through Alta. There are several parking lots in the center of Alta.
Bus:
Boreal has bus routes from Alta to all of Finnmark. Please see Snelandia's timetables.
Troms fylkestrafikk runs regional bus routes Tromsø-Alta Monday-Friday.
Citybus in Alta:
Boreal runs the citybus within Alta. Getting from the center of Alta to Alta museum takes about 8 minutes. Please use Snelandia's journey planner for bus times.
From Finland:
Eskelisen Lapin Linjat runs bus routes from Finland to Finnmark. You can take the bus to either Karasjok, Lakselv or Olderfjord and change to the local Boreal bus to Alta.
From Sweden:
There is no direct bus, train or flight connection between Northern Sweden and Alta. You can take the train from Stockholm via Kiruna to Narvik, and change to bus via Storslett to Alta.
Accomodation
There are several hotels and bed and breakfasts in Alta: Thon Hotell Alta, Scandic Alta, Nordlys hotell, Altafjord Gjestegaard og Spa and Bårstua gjestehus. There are also some camping/cabin rentals, such as Alta River Camping.
